A playground by the beach, how lovely. This small playground at Balmoral is in a fantastic area, just by the netted baths and very close to the cafe. Slurp!
It’s also right on the sand at an area where the trees shade the beach, ideal for babies and small children.
Balmoral Beach Playground
The Esplanade, Balmoral Beach
This playground is small but it has some lovely equipment. It’s definitely aimed at younger children, the under fives really. the swings are set at a little bit of a distance to the rest of the equipment.
My children have always considered the huge trees to be just another piece of play equipment. Those poor trees have put up with a lot over the years!!
This playground’s only drawback really is that it can get FAR too busy!
Nearest Coffee: The Boatshed Cafe is right beside the cafe, and a kiosk is close by too. There are other cafes not too far away and a great fish and chip shop across the road and along a bit.
Toilet: A large change block with toilets is beside the netted baths
Shade: Plenty from the huge, old fig trees
Enclosed: No, a fence runs alongside the road but not fenced on beach side
Mum’s Report: I love the fact that the cafe is so close, always, always have a coffee when we come here. It’s a great little spot, we have a play here and then a play on the sand and a swim on warm days. The playground is part of the whole Balmoral package for us.
Parking: Pay carpark just past the playground and pay street parking along Esplanade

Do you know this little playground?
Can you recommend any other playgrounds by the beach?
