As soon as I heard about the Beautiful Whales exhibition at the Maritime Museum, I knew I had to get over there. The twins and I visited and came away with a year’s membership of this lovely museum at Darling Harbour.
We haven’t been for a while, so it’s on the radar for the next school holidays.

21. Indoor and Outdoor Public Swimming Pools
We’re totally spoiled for choice. In the early days my favourite was North Sydney Olympic Pool. I’d swim there early in the morning when I used to work at Channel 9.
Coming from a long line of wandering Scottish sailors, the Australian National Maritime Museum was always going to be a hit for me.
My older boys used to enjoy a visit here too, especially running around and checking out the submarine. None of us could ever believe how small everything is, how cramped is the life of the submariner.
