Do you tend to make a few plans well before the school holidays arrive?
I do, especially for the school holidays when my husband will be away at work. He arrives home a week after the kids go back to school. So handy. Not.
Here are a few of the plans myself and the four offspring have:
Teen14 is off to cadet camp with school – four nights of mud, rain, tents and marching, he’ll love that and return starving.
Teen16 is doing some driving lessons, working at McDonalds and playing all his instruments very loudly.
Western Plains Zoo
Myself and the twins are off on Monday to visit Western Plains Zoo at Dubbo. We’re going to spend a night at the Zoo, can’t wait!
We’re planning a visit to our local Strike Bowling in Chatswood in the second week of the holidays. Strike has a special on these school holidays in NSW, Victoria and Queensland:
$25 Unlimited Play (unlimited bowling, unlimited laser tag) – Wintergarden (QLD), Entertainment Quarter (NSW). Chatswood (NSW), Charlestown (NSW), Bayside (VIC), Melbourne Central (VIC)
$15 Unlimited Play (unlimited bowling, unlimited karaoke) – Century City Walk (VIC), King Street Wharf (NSW), Melbourne QV (VIC), Surfers Paradise (QLD).
Sounds good to us! All the info is here.
Livvi’s Place Playgrounds
The kids and I will be visiting the Livvi’s Place all-abilities playgrounds around Sydney, more info at the bottom of this post. I’d like to take some photos of them and write up full descriptions to put up on the blog, a nice little school holiday project for us.
Chocolate and Baking
I love to collect a few recipes for treats to make with the kids in school holidays. We will for sure be trying these Pizza Supreme Cookies from Gourmet Getaways.
I’ve already got the chocolate (hidden away in a cupboard, hope I can find it) to make white chocolate Easter egss which we do most years.
I might have a go at this lovely White Chocolate Easter Egg Bark from MrsDPlus3 as well.
No need for me to write up a longer list of school holiday ideas for this year because there are a couple of fabulous ones done already. Check these out – you can’t go wrong.
Bron at Maxabella Loves has posted a fantastic list of school holidays activities on this post:

Check out my post from last Easter, it’s still very relevant

What plans to do you for school holidays?
If you don’t have kids at school yet, does the whole school holidays malarkey drive you nuts?
