There’s nothing quite like waiting for your book to be published.  But it takes a LONG time and you have to be very patient.

There are many steps to be gone through, and proofing the typeset pages is just one of them.

If you have ever wondered what a book’s first page proofs look like, here’s one for your perusal. This is the third edition of Sydney For Under Fives.

I received a huge file with the entire book laid out just like this and had to go through it with a fine tooth comb, looking for typos. I couldn’t find anything that needed correcting in this page, but was glad that a professional proof reader also has a check of the book at the second page proof stage.

This book creation is quite a process, but the end result is well worth it.  It’s a humungous thrill to see your book on a bookshop shelf.

Playgrounds Deluxe; do you like the title of this chapter?

I thought it up almost 10 years ago and am still chuckling about it.

Do I need to get out more?
