I may have more things NOT to do than to do.
As one of those over-committing type people, it’s good to have resolutions about doing less.
Do NOT do another re-design
Or even another re-jig. There will always be things to tweak and improve but they don’t need to be done now. Not in 2012. Don’t spend more money, just consolidate what’s here already.
Write more posts/write less posts
I have been getting keen on the idea of blogging daily. But sometimes just thinking about that makes me feel stressed.
Then sometimes I think it’d be better to do two posts a week and spend the free time on improving photos, learning more about blogging and on promoting books etc (and writing books).
Anyway, my motto is ‘when in doubt, do nowt’ so I’d better just keep on with my 3-5 posts a week and see how that goes and how it feels.
Keep up with linkys
And continue with good blog etiquette. I only link to linkys if I will be able to visit at least five of the other blogs. Do unto others and all that.
Get over fear of InDesign
Or find someone to design some page templates in Word or Pages. I’d like to do a recipe booklet to give away and maybe also a sampler of the best playgrounds to give away when people sign up for my weekly email.
Write more personal posts
Still don’t feel I have found my voice in terms of writing more personal posts. Work on that.
Take two weeks off in February and November
I think my last wee digital detox did me the world of good. I can check, update and refresh playground and cafe posts and schedule them for when I’m having bloggy breaks
Blog Declutter
Tidy up all the giveaway posts. Take the giveaway bits out of review posts and delete posts that only had giveaways. I don’t want to have posts that aren’t useful in some way on the blog.
Write More Humour
Because we all need a laugh.

I hear you on the ‘no more redesigns’ resolution – I always find myself window shopping in the Studiopress themes gallery!
Here’s to happy blogging in 2013!
Yes, and I think I have a tendency to get carried away with the latest idea and don’t consolidate enough. I have a whole new idea for a re-design… but not this year!!
Great idea Seana! I can relate to the ‘do not redesign’. I’m forever tweaking but this year no!
Although I haven’t made resolutions for my blog or myself I have chosen a word for the year ‘present’, meaning I am aiming to be 100% present in every task that I take on. So in terms of my blogging and writing, I will do so with 100% focus, so that can only be a good thing!

Great post Seana! I see you are definitely back on track! I think blogging 3-5 times a week is already very good. You need to leave readers time to read
The current blog designs are fantastic so don’t you worry about changing anything else!

I think the humour bit is good. I’m not as ambitious for my blog as I was the same time as this last year. Not sure why and it probs will change.

Hi Serena, you have similar goals to me, I am still trying to “find my voice” so my readership will build. All the best for 2013!

Love this, Seana! I’m a super huge believer in ruthless self-care. I’m a better mum and wife for it. And luckily, my husband sees the benefits too!

My husband too. He wasn’t so good with the first two but when the twins came along he said: ‘Di whatever you have to do to survive!’
Sounds a bit grim doesn’t it!??!
Gah! I’ve commented on the wrong post! I read your self-care Saturday one this morning on my phone and wanted to come back to it to comment. Hence the above mentioned off the wall comment!
You know me, I’m a big fan of linkys. Such a great way to build a community for your blog x

Not to worry! I find the same thing. Read blogs on the phone and go back to comment and get muddled.
Will start just asking for comments and then maybe start a Linky later on.
I’ve been grappling with the taking time off moment. But I have now done it and only picked up the laptop twice to be respectful to my linky friends

Hi Becc, yes, a bit of downtime is a good thing. Mine was enforced recently when our wifi modem just wouldn’t work and it turned out to be a good thing. But I also totally believe in only linking when I can comment… aarrghh… will be away on Friday and maybe modem free again… will have to see.
