Talking Heads Cafe, Killarney Heights – Sydney’s Best Cafes For Kids

Down in the depths of darkest Killarney Heights there is a great wee kid-friendly hub with cafes, handy shops, kids art and dance classes and a couple of good cafes.

Our regular haunt is Talking Heads, it’s an excellent cafe for children, especially those old enough to trot off to enjoy the nearby playground after they’ve wolfed down their food.

My twins have a great old time, playing on the equipment, racing their cars down the pavements and generally milling around.

Warners Park Playground, Northbridge – Sydney’s Best Secret Playgrounds

Don’t you love it when you accidentally stumble upon a hidden treasure?

Warners Park Playground is one, it’s tucked between Northbridge and Castlecrag and you might never, ever find it. Yet it’s fab!

Only trouble was, I didn’t have any children with me! So I snapped off heaps of photos and determined to bring the children back another day.

Sydney’s Best Cafes for Kids- Cafe Piemonte, Terrey Hills

Isn’t this the kind of sign you just love to see.

‘Kids playground at rear’ has a certain ring to it.

Cafe Piemonte is my new local. The kindy mums from the twins’ school are meeting here after dropoff regularly.

And of course I have to go each time, such are the onerous duties of the class mum.

How do I manage? I just don’t know. Tough, tough life.  Not!

Such a very lovely cafe, it’s been designed to be very family-friendly and it succeeds very well.

It’s slap bang alongside a very large, fully-fenced playground, with lovely water views, in an extensive park.

Sydney’s Best Beaches for Kids- Shelly Beach, Cronulla

Just around the corner and along the walking track from the main beach at Cronulla, this is a sweet little sandy beach with an ocean pool. It is much quieter and more intimate that its huge surf beach brother.

There’s a very beautiful art deco pavilion which has showers and toilets, including, on the top floor some toilets with the best ocean views in the city!
