Sydney Photo Friday – The Bold and The Beautiful + Me

Ah, Manly Beach, you always make me feel so free.

I wasn’t able to get to Manly early enough to join The Bold and The Beautiful swimmers, but I did catch a photo as dozens of them came ashore at the end of their swim.

One day I will get there and join in.

Have you heard about these daily 7am sea swimmers?

Read all about The Bold and The Beautiful on their website here.

But instead, I did go for a swim, with my snorkel and flippers on. All the way from the beach here at Manly, to Shelly Beach, and back.

The water was freezing!! I stayed in too long and was deeply chilled when I got out.

Amazing sea life, so many fish, and a HUGE blue grouper.

I think I have been inspired by the visit to Manly SEA LIFE Sanctuary.

Think I need to add a wetsuit to my snorkelling equipment!

Do you have a favourite snorkelling spot in Sydney?

My niece is a Saturday team member of the Bold & the Beautiful – she adores her time there & has made good friends. She’s done a few of the ocean swims. In summer she’s a Tuesday night lady at Sth Curly & races on Sat Arvos too. She grew up at Killarney Hts (my bro’s eldest DD) & is now a mature age student becoming a primary teacher & living the single life in a unit in Manly Vale. Small world again, Ms Seana!!

    • How lovely for her. One day I WILL get there at 7am, maybe a weekend when hubby is home. But boy that water is chilly. Definitely a small world, good thing.

  2. Flippers? I assume you are talking about your very nice yellow fins. Where has the Seana of OUUEG-days gone?

    • Errrr… yes, fins, of course!! Have got totally rusty. Need some shoe fins as the yellows ones are so big and heavy. They are my originals from uni I am pretty sure. When did you last dive? My last proper underwater adventure was off the coast of Karachi in 1997, I hate to say. Lovely wreck called the ‘Himalaya.’
